YWCA Tri

Tri # 4 today (two this summer, two last summer). This was the second time for this one, though the venue changed. This is an all women's triathlon, with 865 finishers, which is so much fun. Several of us in our neighborhood, along with several friends of friends, etc. competed today. Some for the first time, some have done a few before. Everyone did so well - it was really impressive.

Team ConnorI had the privilege of competing on Team Connor again this year. Connor (above holding the flag) is the son of a childhood friend with neurofibromatosis.

Believe it or not, this isn't our whole group!

Quite possibly my most unflattering photo to date. That'd be me doing my best male dog impersonation.

My favorite cheer-ers.

On the run.
Seriously, couldn't the guy just sitting there give me a little "Rah-rah" ?????

In transition from the bike to the run...fiddling with my gear change.

Coming up to say hi to my gang before the swim start.

Some of us gals headed in for body marking and to rack our bikes.
That's me in the light blue if you care. And yes, that's my diaper bag backpack. Handy, eh?

Final times:
500 yard swim: 11:34
Transition 1: 2:06
15 mile bike: 46:57
Transition 2: 1:07
5k (3.1 mile) run: 26:01
Overall Time: 1:27:43

You left off the fact that you placed 11th in your age group. You are an inspiration - way to go!

Kate stole my line! Awesome job out there. I'm jealous and fearful that I'll be eating your dust next year!

cool! I have so many friends who do tri's. And their kids do tri's (down to a 5 yr old). Pretty sure I'm supposed to get some kind of message here....
