A couple of days before Christmas, my brother, sister-in-law and their three boys flew into to town (a 3 year old and 18 month old twins). They stayed at my sister's house because she only has four boys and what's three more! They also have a wonderfully huge finished basement that guests can take over!
J, Bananz, Meaty and I woke up here Christmas morning at the crack of early when the kids came busting in and could hardly stand the 30 second wait for us to get downstairs. They squealed with delight at the loot from Santa and immediately wanted to rip into all of their presents. After some coaxing, we convinced them to slow down a second, check out their Santa gifts a little bit more, and wait for mom and dad to make coffee. Then, one by one, we'd take turns opening presents. It was a painful wait, but they conceded and we opened our presents from each other and J's family. We spent a leisurly morning at home, then headed over to my sister's house for brunch, gift opening and hanging out.
We joined the already-in-progress craziness that comes with seven kids under 11 at my sister's house, and enjoyed a wonderful brunch. We hung out, actually played outside, opened gifts, ate some more, played some more, ate some more...you know the drill.
It was a relaxing fun day!
