However, J's mom lives 15 minutes from Legoland. Sold. It's waaaay less expensive, has a water park, rides, and oh, LEGOS EVERYWHERE. A bonus was that on the day we went, it was the last day of Star Wars days at the park.
Feeling very validated, the kids almost immediately began to whine about walking and waiting in lines. They both actually asked to go back to Grandma's house a few different times...while we tried to talk them in to more rides and checking out more cool legos. Yes, mean parents. But I think, in the end, they enjoyed their day and managed to have some fun. After the fact, they've both named Legoland as a trip highlight. Mission accomplished.
Resting after the long walk from the parking lot to the park entrance.
Real characters walking around all day...kind of exciting for all the SW fans out there.
The sand sculptures were really impressive.
Locked up.
J and Uncle B had to pump this fire truck and race the other rescue vehicles to the finish.
Meaty, aka Don King, on his first roller coaster ride with J, Banany and Uncle B. The kids LOVED this.
Rides, rides, rides. This one had a short line.
Lifesized lego statues were everywhere. Banany wanted to pretend she was sleeping by him. Meaty punched him in the stomach.
A certain adult had a great time on the coaster and worked the camera.
I think this was San Fran...the "minilands" were awesome.
Personally, I liked the New Orleans model.
The big dude in the middle was very excited about Star Wars days.
