Banany has had this one dangling front tooth for several days now. She's twists it, messes with it with her tongue...it was all but out. It had started to turn kind of gray since it no longer had blood flow - pretty. It had also been naturally a little jutted out because of her thumb sucking and pushing it with her tongue.
So I'm going to the bathroom this morning and looking out the window which faces the street in front of our house (tmi, but part of the story...bear with me), when I see my sister run by (yeah, she's running...she's also, what Hil, 20 weeks pregnant?). My kids adore her, so I tell them to quickly run out onto the porch so we can say hi.
She comes up to chat for a few and hears about Banany's crazy tooth and offers to pull it out. Banany agrees, and out it comes. Then my sister says, "Let me see that one next to it." Sure enough, it's gotten super loose in the last day or two. She says, "Want me to get that one too?" Again, Banany agrees, and out it comes. All in a day's work...grow a baby, go for a run, pull two teeth. What next, it's only 7:30 a.m.?
As an aside, in light of these baby teeth getting very close to coming out, we'd decided a few days ago that Banany needed to stop sucking her thumb. We'd been talking about for nearly a year now, but with her permanent teeth coming in soon, we needed to put a stop to the thumb sucking.
Lucky for us, Banany can only suck her thumb if she's got her beloved baby. She only had her baby to sleep with at night, but as a result, sucked her thumb all night. So several months ago, she picked out a new soft, cuddly stuffed kitty...and it's been sitting in her closet waiting for her to be ready. But on Thursday night, Banany said goodbye to her baby and we got the kitty out.
She hasn't sucked her thumb since. I literally have an ultrasound picture of her sucking her thumb, so this has been 7 years in the making, but she's done it like a champ.
Way to go, Banany!
p.s. You don't know this yet, but Mommy still has your baby. Don't worry, she's going to a special place where you can hug her again someday.

Wow didn't know you had said goodbye to Baby. How is she sleeping?
Glad I could do my part as the teeth puller! Hard to believe the baby has been retired!
